First you apply for learning license. You go to your nearest RTO office along with residence proof in original, age proof. Get form # 2 at the RTO office and fill it duly. If you want license for both cars and 2 wheelers, tick Motor cycle & LMV. Dont take any photographs there as they would take digital photos there. After filling in form, go to approach the Enquiry/Help section. Hand over the form and the proofs to get a token number. Wait for your turn till your token number is shown in the display. Go to the counter and Pay Rs 60 and get cash receipt. Take it and go to photo section where photo would be taken along with your sign. Go to exam hall. If you have 2 wheeler license, you need not take the exam. If you dont, take exam there. After you clear test, you get learners license imm. This is just a paper with your digital image on it and a hologram. This is valid for 6 months. You can take the driving test in Nagole after 30 days then. Learners License is valid for 6 months.

After 30 days, go to Nagole for taking the test. You dont have to book any slot or call anyone before going there. You need to go there in your car along with the documents of the car (RC, Tax receipt, Insurance) and Learning License original. The test timings are from 0930 AM to 0130 PM. Nagole is about 10 KMs from Tarnaka. To reach Nagole, you need to go to Tarnaka and then Habsiguda and then get onto Uppal Road and near the Uppal Junction take a straight road. Initially you would see RTO office Nagole. Go further 3 Kms from there and you would reach Nagole RTO test centre.

Park your vehicle in one of the parking slots (Rs 4 would be collected later for this). Go to the cash counter. You need to fill in a form which is available beside the cash counter. Fill it and attach your original learners license to it and pay Rs 390 (if you are applying for only LMV) or Rs 440 (if you are applying for 2 categories). The person over there wouldnt even bother to give change. So it is strongly advised to carry the exact change. After waiting for about 5-15 mins, you would get your cash receipt. Take this and go to the Verification and Wrist Band issuance centre which is just beside this. You need to show your car documents and get the wrist band tied. Then you go to the adjacent place as directed by the person

Here there are 2 tracks. As I was under RTO Khairatabad, I was given track 2. For other RTO categories, Track 1 would be given. To clear the test, you need to do the test drive in the track. Nobody would be there to guide you or tell you what you need to do. You just need to follow the road signals there and go on. The entire process of taking the test (once you start) wouldnt take more than 10 mins. The track would have an 8 pattern, H pattern U turn, steep ascent and speed breakers as part of test.

Pavan   P 37 months ago
Pull down your car windows and start car following the arrow and take a left to enter 8 pattern. There would be 2 circles and around these you need to make 8. Go and take a left to enter into H pattern. There would be numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 in different positions.Go to 1 & take reverse go to 2. Go straight to 3 & take reverse to 4. The complete shape and pattern would be given clearly as road signs. Then come out of pattern and join road. Take another left as per road sign. This is small square block and within 5 attempts you need to take U turn. There wouldnt be enough place to take U turn. You need to go thru corner, take right &reverse and right. Then join the road. Go straight and there would be steep scent with bumpy roads and a turn. Take turn and go straight. There would be speed breakers. Dont worry as these speed breakers are worn off. You would then just go out of the road to parking. Your test ends here. There would be a person watching from a small cabin while you are doing this.

Pavan   P 37 months ago
After your test is finished, you can go to the cabin (there are 2 cabins for 2 tracks) where you would be informed if you have cleared the test or not. If you have cleared, you would need Rs 28 (mind you, the exact change) and fill in the self-addressed envelope. Within a week, you would get the license through post. If you have not cleared, no worries. You can take the test again after 7 days by paying re-test fees.

Also, the track where you take the test is available for mock drive/tests by paying a fees of Rs 50 in non-test hours (ie after 01:30 PM weekdays).

Better to go there during weekdays if you want to finish things quickly.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.but i am not having a proper address proof. So i have to see for a broker. It would be great if any of you give any broker number near Khairadabad.

Inderjeet   C 14 months ago
They accept address proof given by the employer as well. Get a letter from company HR and this will work. Broker will charge you fortune and you will have to visit the RTO even if you are going thru broker. So, don't waste your money. Take necessary identity and address proofs and visit RTO. Take learner test. Cost is just 60 rupees. Driving test will cost you another 440 rupees.

Hi Roopa, you can log in to www.aptransport.org website and book the slot. If you come under Tier 2, then you got to go to any RTA office and book the slot there.

Hi Roopa, If you don't mine my suggestion is to simply approach Motor driving School and tell them regarding this. Simply they will take around Rs. 600/- and no need to take risk simply you will get your car licence within 15 days.
Otherwise its ok, whatever the method earlier you have followed is better. Anyway all the best.

I dont think it is true, you need to have a Learner's License for LMV, two wheeler license wont work. At the first place, why are you trying to take shortcuts ? Go through the correct procedure, you will not have any problems in future!

Veny. regarding your question... if you hold a valid 2 wheeler license, you don't need to appear for the LLR (the computed based learning license test), however you must appear for the driving test as mentioned above.

TO AVOID TAKING COMPUTER BASED LEARNING LICENCSE TEST (LLR) in Andhra Pradesh:

Refer to note#2 in this FAQ: http://aptransport.org/html/faq.php?cat=22#25

1. to bypass LLR, you need to have a valid license issued by the concerned RTA of the area where you live.
2. go to the RTA and ask for Learning license form, fill it up and pay necessary amount. in the form, mention your permanent license number. the administrative officer will be able to waive off the requirement to take LLR for you.
3. the process is extremely hassle free if you hold a driving license from the same RTA where you are applying for a learning license.
4. if your license is not from the same RTA, it is advisable to check with the helpdesk at the RTA offices, if you need to get a change of address.
5. for those who hold driving license from another state (like i), you would need a "no objection certificate" from the issuing RTA to approve transfer of your license to the RTA in your current city. once this is done, you need to visit the RTA requesting for "change of address" form, and submit it with the NOC, the original driving license, any one proof of address like Passport, Voter's id card, bank statement, electricit bill, etc.

the AP Transport website claims that their services are citizen friendly, and i agree with them. you don't need to go by an agent as long as you have enough patience to go to the RTA a couple of times (mostly for the lack of proper documents).

Hi,

The procedure to obtain a Driving Licence is simple. Follow the below mentioned steps. Normally this is the process in any State. Well, Few RTA's could be working as per the local governments periodic regulations.

1. Buy the Learning Licence Forms. These are Form 2, Form 1 & Form 1A(Generally for people aged above 40 years). These forms are available in single click at www.drivingtest.in. Copy the following link and try.

http://www.drivingtest.in/rta-forms.php

2. Once you are done with filling up of forms, find out with the Road Transport Authorities if you have to book a slot for your learners licence test. In Andhra Pradesh, one has to book the slot and then practice the questions to clear the test. In Andhra Pradesh the slot can be booked at the link below.

http://cfst.co.in/cfstonline/LL/TestCenter.aspx

3. Once the slot is booked, you need to prepare for the online learners licence test which comprises of 20 questions. The passing mark is 16 where each question carries 1 mark. In order to practice online you may visit the following link. There are about 250 questions in this website and 10 are sample questions. Register to access all the questions.

http://www.drivingtest.in/online-driving-li cense-sample-test.php

4. To get a hint on the road signs and the traffic signs go to

For knowing all the Traffic Signs http://www.drivingtest.in/road-signs.php

To know about driving tips etc http://www.drivingtest.in/resources.php

5. Once you clear your learners licence, you may book a slot for the permanent licence on the same website as stated above. While learning to drive a two wheeler or a four wheeler, kindly keep the road safety and its structure in mind. Read the signs in practical driving test carefully. For further driving tips logon to
