Do you think the Archeological Survey Of India (ASI) has stirred the hornet's nest by declaring that Ramayana and Lord Rama didn't exist?
From my view point, it doesn't matterif it existed or not. If people find solace praying and believing it, it's fine. Ultimately, you are contributing to the peace of the society. People worship him and follow his ideals, by reading the Ramayana. What's wrong in this? Every religion has a sacred book which they read follow. What's written in it is for the good for the people and the society. ASI should sincerely concentrate on restoring dilapidated monuments and work towards research of mankind and the civilisation. Just by proving something that cannot be proved or accepted by the society, it's worth nothing but only disturbing the peace of a particular religion.

| While I do not want to personally comment on matters of faith or religion, I will say that clearing a channel around the Adams Bridge should be done irrespective of whatever faith or religion is involved. This hardly causes any Indian any hardship! I think the politicians and the media are the ones stirring the pot as usual. The common man does not really care.

So true. Both the Geeta and the Ramayan are at the focus of unnecessary publicity. Those who follow their precepts will continue to do so, and those who don't, won't. Politicians, as always find religion the best way to trash our brains and make us behave irrationally. Why do we let them??!
As for the media the less said the better. How can you trust someone whose actions are wholly dictated by TRPs!

I dont understand why people wants to know that Ramayana is a truth or fiction. Whether its a truth or fiction it doesnt matter. coz people who solely believe that it is truth they will not stop worshipping lord rama.
Instead of wasting minds and time behind knowing this , there are many many other issues to be put our minds on like - terrorrism, population, poverty etc.
Government and media is just trying to divert our minds from this important topics.

| Even if Ramayana is true and the Ram Sethu bridge was man-made, Lord Rama would himself have agreed to clearing the channel if he was still alive, because that bridge was built to get Goddess Sita back, and now that Lord Rama got her back after killing Ravana, why would he require that bridge anymore ?? He would favor anything that would lead to the betterment of Indian economy!
