Hi, You all know that Ramu ki sholay (Ramu ki Aag) has already gone down the drain. So in your opinion is it a worthy effect to remake classics, when the chance is always there to get compared with original version.
Also when we go to watch such movies, do we always go with negative mind and at the back of our mind does it always play that the old one was good?
What you think?

| I think there is no reason to waste one's energy by remaking things. If you are creative you can get several ideas. Only remake things when you are confident that you can make things better. Otherwise.... well it is better not to mention.

I agree with Anirban. Tho' there's also this theory that nothing's actually original, everything's inspired by something else!

| Classics cannot be remade. Directors to today have run short of stories and so are relying on remakes. As the public expections are high because of the never forgettable classics, remakes cannot match today's lifestyle and culture. For example, remake of Don. Helen's E Mera Dil was a big hit those days and even now. The remake had Kareena seducting Shahrukh. Currently, seductive scenes involve heroines in naked/semi-naked scenes, but in remake Don's case, Kareena tried to copy exactly as Helen. It couldn't be accepted by today's audience and so the movie took a beating. Instead of trying hit classics, our directors should stick to remaking old flops. Even if Sippys ever tried remaking their own Sholay, they will not succeed.

| I think everything depends on the way one interprets - I have the right to present a classic the way I interpret and similarly you also have a right to present it the way you interpret it to be.

Too Good.. We need new perspectives of older films.. I wouldnt normally see a movie which my grandma would watch.. but if its remade or Rereleased i wouldnt mind...
Re-releasing should be a good option!

| As long as it is good, there is no harm in remaking classics, getting inspired by already released movies or copying or stealing scenes. Theme can be same. But movie can be made different. We have already seen the classic and would not want to just see new actors in place of old repeating the same dialogues. If these classics are adapted to the current day, they would make very good movies.
