2008 is just around the corner. What events of the past 12 months do you remember for better or for worse?

(Apart from earth-shattering events like Shilpa Shetty winning Big Brother, you can also share personal events like getting an admit (or a reject) from your favourite college)

Think of 2007, what distinctively strikes me is Sunita Williams breaking the world record of highest individual stay in space, Indians lifting the World Cup in 20Twenty Tournament, Asia cup hockey win, Vishwanathan Anand winning the world cup chess tournament and many more. However, this question certainly made me contemplate – What are those memorable events for me?? Here it goes…

2007 has been the most dramatic year of my life so far. The very first day of the year started off with my friend gone missing and chaos after that. Since then it’s been a true concoction of a few sweet little nothings, a few bitter memories, some tuff situations, new people, learnings and the list would never end. Bitter experiences when quitting a job that I loved so much (to the extent of some legal complications), Successful delivery of some complicated projects that I have taken up in my successive job, my ex-company where I had problems quitting taking over the next company I joined (Uff uff..), drunken revelries with my friends (and subsequently being caught by police of course), house hunting twice in Hyderabad (R u wondering if its something worth mentioning.. did u eva try.. huh), my best friend’s wedding (n the masti we had), GMAT prep with some MBA career aspirations, Some good old friends departing, some strong resolutions for the new year, plans to party hard of course… N the list goes on and on… Aint that just like one of the Shakespearean dramas?

BIG positive - I now have ID!
For a whole almost-two years of being an adult I couldn't prove who I was and that I'm Indian ("Madam, you have come from foreign?") and that I live where I do, because apparently college ID doesnt work for govt stuff.
Now I have ID of all sorts! Wheeeee! 2007 has been fun. To say the least. But then, my years are always eventful!

For me the most significant happening is that now I am one year older. This is positive, while I will now live one year less than my lifespan is the negative thing. Leaving aside kidding, expressing myself in tolmolbol.com is one opportunity I got in the past year. And like that sensitive sensex, my personal ups and downs.

Well to me, one of the path-breaking things of 2007 is that Mukesh Ambani became the world's richest man.

Even after so much of economic disparity in the country, we still have the world's richest man!!

No doubt, "it happens only in India"
