In 2006 Italian theatre troupe Teatro per Caso(Theatre for a Cause) in collabration with El Shaddai, a Goa based shelter for orphans and street children, devised a project entitled the 'Laboratory of Smiles'.
‘Laboratory of Smiles’ is the name given to the children’s theatre troupe that aims at personality development,building confidence and increasing the exposure of these children to environments outside of their home in Goa (out of which most have probably had no opportunity to step) through the chosen medium of street theatre.
Twenty-five children representing the many at the shelter will be chosen to stage Fantasia: Dream of a Child, the hour long performance that includes stilt walking, juggling and even displaying circus and acrobatic tricks. These children will tour Mumbai, Pune and Goa, putting up multiple performances in each city.
November 14 will see the children perform at the GSB grounds, next to SNDT College, King’s Circle, Sion. The second performance on Nov 15 is tentatively at Cross Maidan, Churchgate.
Entry will be free so we hope to see you there.
