“If music be the food of love, sing on.” Musee Musical helps you do just that, with a wide variety of music-related paraphernalia. They have everything you need including music instruments, teachers, books, CDs.
Tucked away off the main Mount Road, in a little cul de sac, Musee Musical is housed a spacious old building. It has been renovated so you now have the ground floor and a mezzanine over which is spread a fabulous collection of guitars, pianos, keyboards, flutes, saxophones…. With well-known international labels like Steinways, Steinmann, Yamaha, Korg. Indian musical instruments are also sold here.
A pioneer in facilitating music education, Musee Musical has been around for over a century. In fact, it’s one of the oldest centres for The Trinity College of Music, London, in South India. A panel of highly qualified teachers is available to train you to international standards – for Trinity College exams among others.
The fancy new music school is in the building facing the main showroom. The rather shabby entrance doesn't prepare you for the fancy, air-conditioned interiors, with Trinity logo prominently displayed and a formal reception area. This leads to a neat row of cubicles where they have one-on-one classes for their students.
Must add that the owner (I think it’s Mr Das) and the staff are very helpful.
Oh, and if you want your pianos tuned or shifted they’ll organize that too.
