A Snip Tale
The first thing which I learnt about advertising is that to be successful, you need to be quick as things can land on you without warning. My first such experience was rather unsettling but one which was truly enjoyable. Two days of travelling with a handy cam followed with two lone rangers among the multitude, trying to coax, cajole, plead and threat passer bys to give their inputs on the respective topic.
After capturing a reasonable amount of footage, we headed to the Seventh Crest to have it edited. Seventh Crest is no coffee shop or a new hangout. It is an editing studio. I was completely bowled over by the entire infrastructure. The fact that many successful Tamil flicks were edited here added to my enchantment.
The editing studio is completely air conditioned with state of art equipment and software. There is a separate dubbing studio for voice recording and editing. The professionals are extremely patient and are wizards when it comes to snipping and trimming the footage for a sensible master copy. The rates are Rs. 500 per hour for offline editing.
Editing is one of the most magical parts of making an audio visual. The transition from a cluttered mass to a perfectly sensible film is simply phenomenal. Seventh Crest is one of the best editing suites in the city.
