Let’s face it! Everyone loves to play Cinderella at least at some point of their lives. And Cinderella is a much renowned figure more so than any other fairy tale character. So, this flick would capture your heart despite your age group.
Don’t be surprised to find yourself crying with Sam Montgomery (Hillary Duff) as she goes through a series of heartbreaking moments until she finds herself. A Cinderella Story is all about Sam Montgomery, a teenager who works extra hard to not just get straight A grades but also juggle as a waitress in Fionna’s café. Fionna is her step mother and along with Brianna and Gabriella (her two step sisters who couldn’t get any dumber) makes life a living hell. But Sam has a desire to go to the prestigious Princeton University where she would meet her Prince Charming.
Sam, as she chats under the name of Princeton Girl comes across Nomad (Chad Michael Murray) who becomes her admirer. They enjoy their email relationship until they meet up. Sam finds out that Nomad is Austin Ames-the most popular guy in school! Sam is scared to reveal her true identity as she is apprehensive if Austin would like her as she is.
But after much soul searching, Sam finds out that the fear of losing should not stop one from striking out and this inspires her to confront Austin as Sam and not as Princeton Girl. This flick has its hilarious moments. A really cute flick which would leave a lingering feel-good emotion. A modern day story of how Cinderella rises from rags to riches in the world of email and cell phones.
