99 Dosas literally serves 99 different kinds of dosas. This means that almost every kind of combination that you can think of is available here. And all of them are vegetarian. The restaurant is on the lower ground floor and finding a parking spot for your vehicle can be a pain. On Sundays, however, most of the adjacent buildings that house banks and offices are closed. Therefore, parking is more easily available then.
Coming to the restaurant itself, 99 Dosas does not have an upmarket ambience. Rather it has a nice, cozy feel and is also surprisingly low-budget. Ha! How much can a dosa cost, you wonder. 99 Dosas serves dosas ranging from 20 odd bucks to a princely 225 bucks. Of course, the Superior Dosa is supposedly an 18 foot monster. Even if you don't feel as ravenous as a marauding army, you can experiment with a whole lot of dosas filled with stuffings ranging from cauliflowers to mushrooms and from ladies fingers to bananas. For the calorie conscious, there is a special range of dosas made using olive oil, a grease that is supposedly good for your heart.
99 Dosas also serves rotis and sabzis. So, even if you are out with a diverse group of friends, you can definitely visit this place. Personally, I found the regular dosas to be better than those with the fancier sounding names. But then, with 99 different types of dosas, I have only begun scratching the surface.
