ICICI Bank ATM - Any Time Misery
The ICICI ATM located at BPCL petrol bunk Panjagutta is a fine example of how an ATM should not be run. Let me first present the good part - the branch is located 2 minutes walk from my office so its damn convenient and reachable. Also in recent times I have never ever needed to wait in a queue to withdraw money.
Now to the more glaring bad part:
The branch hosts two ATMs and is constantly springing up problems and surprises. The most common problem that you would encounter is - "at a time you can not withdraw more than Rs. 4000". While this is fine if it happens rarely, but in problem is repeated with unerring frequency. If ICICI notices the trend that this branch has high activity in terms of withdrawals, why can they not associate a larger slice of monies to it?
Another one that the account holders would usually face is "The machines would dispense only 100 Rupee notes." If you are withdrawing 500 or a 1000 this is fine but if you are withdrawing 5000 and more you would have to carry 50 above notes in your pocket.
Apart from this there are numerous other glitches that keep happening, like one machine would keep rejecting the card tagging it as invalid.
The only saving grace (in recent times) is that you can walk in and out without standing in lengthy queues, probably it to do with all the constant niggles the machines keep coming up with.
ICICI has to do something with these Any Time Misery machines they sponsor.
