Kenilworth was famous during the 1960’s and 1970’s. That era Kolkata flaunted very few 5 star hotels- Kenilworth, Park Hotel , Astor and Grand.It was known to be frequented by the Glitterati of Kolkata. Various film actors used to throw lavish parties on the lawns of Kenilworth. Those days are gone. Gone are the days of glittering Chandelier and flowing champagne. The vibrant walls have given way to dull wall papers badly needing a fresh coat of paint. Kenilworth is still frequented, not by the affluent s but by the low budget travelers. Kolkatans still frequent this this restaurant to get a taste of Old Kolkata Charm. Though the food is not that great any more, one look at the place is enough to tell you that once upon a time it was considered as one of the Best places in Kolkata.
